Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada

We arrived here yesterday and had a masterclass with Aurora Chorealis - part of the YellowKnife Choral Society. Everyone is very friendly and seems completely fine with the freezing cold temperatures of around -25 to -30 degrees Celsius! Quite a shock to our more temperate systems. Anyway, the masterclass was a success, after which we went to one of the participants' house-boat, which is located on the Great Slave Lake. Literally a floating house (which they designed and built themselves) on a massive lake, which in winter gets frozen over with a surface layer of ice about six feet thick! A strange sensation driving from land onto the lake without anyone raising an eyebrow... Glad I brought my down coat and snow boots with me!Today, we have a masterclass with some children's choirs, and then our concert in the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre, which is apparently the only "theatre" for thousands of miles! Which I guess explains why tonight's show is sold out! Looking forward to experiencing the energy in the hall during the concert -- it's been generally fantastic so far on this Canada tour!In the meantime, we're working away on further ideas and preparation for 2018...
