Walla Walla,WA

I am delighted to be writing to you a few days into my first tour of the USA! The group loves coming to America and so I am pleased to be here so soon during my time in The King’s Singers.

So far we have performed in Salem, Oregon at the Saint Paul’s Evensong Concert Series, a festival that is celebrating it’s 20th year! We were delighted to be there for this important anniversary.

Some of you may have heard that our flights to Walla Walla, WA yesterday were cancelled due to the severe weather. We were forced to drive five hours in treacherous conditions. Our windscreen wipers froze up, and there was so much snow that we couldn’t drive more than 30 mph!

But, rest assured, we are safe and sound in Walla Walla, with about an hour until our second concert of this tour in the Cordiner Hall. During tonight’s concert we will perform with the Walla Walla High School Chamber Singers. They were sounding wonderful in rehearsal this afternoon.

Tomorrow we head to Edmonton, AB which is minus 30 degrees celsius. Interestingly, this means that three of my first eight appearances with the group will be sub-minus-15! I do hope I get to travel to some warmer places sometime soon; perhaps tonight’s performance of Kokomo will help me feel a little warmer!
