Sir Neville Marriner 1924 - 2016

What a huge honour to say that Sir Neville Marriner is part of The King's Singers history. In 1966, the original 6 members made an album teaser (under the name Schola Cantorum Pro Musica Profana in Cantabridgiense) and a copy was given to Sir Neville. After hearing this, he set up a concert for the group in Halle Park in 1966. This sparked further concert bookings and on 1st May, 1968 the group had their debut concert in Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, under their new, official name The King's Singers.Thank you Sir Neville Marriner for that first major concert booking back in 1966. May you rest in peace.
