Schweinfurt, Germany

We’re currently getting towards the end of a very busy week in Germany! It started in Hamburg, with one of my favourite concert experiences in my career thus far; the beautiful hall, enthusiastic crowd, and lovely programme all combined to make a really magical atmosphere in the Leishalle concert hall. Our 5 encores suggest that the audience felt similarly!Yesterday we were in Schwetzingen, where we gave a concert which was filmed for live steam and later television broadcast on German TV - the live stream was hosted here, if you want to give it a watch.Tonight we gave a concert in Schweinfurt - a town to which the group hasn’t been for many years (if ever!). There’s a bit of hay fever and some nasty colds around at the moment - both in the audience and on stage - but it was a lovely concert. I particularly enjoy singing a set of German folksongs which we’ve been doing in this week’s programmes; they’re such charming little pieces, and I think the audiences really enjoy hearing us offer our own take on their folk music.Tomorrow, we’re off to Leipzig for the 7th concert in 8 days! It’s my first time in J S Bach’s hometown, and I can’t wait to see it (briefly), and to sing in the famous Gewanthaus concert hall.Hope you’re all well and enjoying the spring!
