The Royal Society of Musicians, London

We're back at work today after our summer break. I'm greatly looking forward to getting back into singing with a day's rehearsal at the Royal Society of Musicians today, followed by a photo shoot tomorrow. More time for rehearsal follows on Wednesday to get us ready for Julian's first concerts on Thursday and Friday in Mayfield and Rochester respectively. Over the weekend we'll be in France to perform one of my favourite KS programmes - Gesualdo's amazing Tenebrae Responsories for Maundy Thursday. As many of you will know, we recorded this a few years back, and it is one KS CD I often listen to for pleasure. It's even better to perform it live!

I've had a wonderfully relaxing summer - it was great to spent lots of time at home, and, apart from a brief trip to Denmark‎, I didn't leave the UK.

As we start back for the new season, our former colleague, Paul, is on the second day of his marathon charity cycle ride from Cape‎ Wrath in the North-west of Scotland to Dover in the far South-east corner of England. He is riding in support of Sarah's Spirit, for which our recent Little Gransden concert raised money. We wish him a swift and safe journey through the UK.‎
