Paris, France

What a wonderful day we've had here in Paris on St Valentine's Day! For our third, main KS 50th anniversary event this year, our French agent Philippe Maillard kindly invited lots of former King's Singers out to Paris to attend this evening's concert at the Salle Gaveau (beautiful concert venue, ideal for chamber music) and we even managed to persuade them to join us on stage for a few numbers altogether at the end of the programme. It was amazing to breathe together at the start of a piece or a phrase and for all 16 of us King's Singers to come in perfectly together, completely unrehearsed, as if we'd all been singing together concurrently for years! How honoured I am to finally have fulfilled a childhood dream of mine and sing on stage with the likes of Nigel Perrin, Jeremy Jackman, Al Hume, Nigel Short, Alastair Thompson, Philip Lawson, Colin Mason, Stephen Connolly and Brian Kay (and of course David Hurley, with whom I shared the stage for a number of years at the start of my KS career)! A night to remember.
