Out with a Bang!

We’repacking our bags for the last few concerts of the season, including the Edinburgh InternationalFestival! We’re honoured to be performing Sir James MacMillan’s Quickeningon 10 August as part of his 60th birthday celebrations, sharing thestage with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Edinburgh Festival Chorus andthe RSNO Junior Chorus, all under the baton of Edward Gardner.

Earlier that week we visit the Guernsey Literary Festival, followed by two performances at one of Germany’s largest classical music festivals, Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festspiele. The first performance on 7 August is an open-air concert in the Dargun monastery ruins which will end with a spectacular fireworks display – so we’ll definitely go out with a bang! For the second concert on 8 August, we’ll be joined by Rostock motet choir under conductor Markus J. Langer to perform our former King’s Singer colleague Bob Chilcott’s piece A Thanksgiving as an encore. We’ll round off the week, and the season, with a performance at Flims Festival in Switzerland on 11 August.
