This weekend, we are very excited to be returning to the Edinburgh International Festival to unveil our new collaboration with our friend and celebrated percussionist, Colin Currie.
Opening the Queen’s Hall series of the festival on Saturday 2 August, our concert will showcase a brand new programme for marimba and vocal ensemble that bridges early music and contemporary expression with world premiere arrangements of Missy Mazzoli’s The year of our Burning and Roderick William’s Death be not proud, plus the thrilling prospect of a world premiere of Sir James MacMillan’s new work, A Bunch o’Craws. Alongside this we’ll perform the whole of Steve Martland’s Street Songs, which we recorded with Evelyn Glennie in 1990.
Tickets are on sale via the Edinburgh Festival website, but if you can’t join us in person, the full concert will be recorded and broadcast at a later date on BBC Radio 3. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for an update on how you can tune in!
