It's been a busy few days, with our trip to Switzerland and Germany at the end of last week, followed by two days in London at the beginning of this week. It was great to be in Dresden for a couple of concerts on Friday and Saturday - the first in the Ball und Brauhaus Watzke and the second in the Palais in Grossen Garten, two contrasting buildings - one a working brewery and the other a rather grand palace (in need of a bit of modernisation, in real estate speak). The other novelty about Saturday's concert was that we were able to get back home afterwards thanks to the 3pm start time.
Today we are in London for auditions, a rehearsal with Eric Whitacre and the BBC Singers, and for a brief appearance on BBC Radio 3's "In Tune". The rehearsal is for a concert on Tuesday, when we will be performing four pieces from our "Highflight" CD. These are Eric's "Alone" and "The Stolen Child", and "Highflight" and "A Thanksgiving" by Bob Chilcott. I'm looking forward to singing these lovely pieces once again.
