Hejnice, Czechia

Hello again everyone!

It is already the first week of term again! And the start of my first full season with The King's Singers. I am not sure where our five weeks holiday went; it seemed to rush by faster than I could have imagined. I had a wonderful break relaxing with my family, visiting relatives and making two trips to Scotland and Guernsey.

Anyway, any sadness that the holiday is over is certainly compensated by my happiness to be back making music with Pat, Jules, Chris, Nick and Johnny; I missed them over the holidays!

Today we are in Hejnice in the very North of Czechia. We are staying in a monastery which is a wonderful experience (though the church clock ringing loud and clear at 6 am was somewhat of a surprise)!

Last night we had a workshop with the Severáček Children's Choir. We so enjoyed working with them, and look forward to singing with them in tonight's concert in the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church has a wonderful acoustic which we are looking forward to performing in. Tonight's programme is called Moscow to London. We make a musical journey from Russia to England (including a stop in Czechia) covering music from many centuries and in many languages; we are particularly looking forward to singing Czech Composer, Antonín Tučapský's, setting of the John Betjeman poem Slough!

See you soon,

Eddie
