Debrecen, Hungary

After a lovely concert last night at Hasselt University in Flemish-speaking Belgium, we flew this morning from Brussels to Budapest, where we were met by our Hungarian agent, Katalin, and are now driving to Debrecen. We've just stopped off en route for a delicious, local lunch consisting of meat and vegetable soup, meat casserole and a side of what I can only describe as something close to the German foodstuff, Spätzle. Fairly heavy for a balmy summer's day, it has to be said, but has hit the spot since we've been up since the crack of dawn and built up quite an appetite!Pulling into our hotel now, where we'll have a few minutes to unpack, hang up suits and freshen up, before we head to our rehearsal with the choir and orchestra and sound-check on the sound system.Quiet night in tonight, methinks...
