Bad Urach, Germany

Today is officially the first day of winter. We've all been talking about it; the air is cold and damp, and the smell of wood fires drifts slowly around this delightful Germany village, just south of Stuttgart. In some ways it's comforting to feel the change in the seasons, but in most ways I just miss the summer and the long, warm days.Winter touring brings its own challenges, chief amongst which (for the singer, at least) is the common cold. There have been sniffles appearing around the group for a week or so now, and we're desperately dosing up on water, sleep, and hot meals whenever we can. I think we're beating it. The concerts certainly aren't suffering, even if we are, and this tour has seen us received by enthusiastic audiences in Poland, Romania and now Germany. Whatever else it brings, this time of year certainly brings people together to local events, chief amongst which are concerts, and if we can lift their spirits as the days get shorter then so much the better. It's exciting times for us as we take delivery of the first batch of GOLD books, CD sets and our premium boxed set. So much hard work has gone into these, and we're delighted with the results. Our predecessors seem to like them, too - all-important when they represent a celebration of the group's history! If you haven't already got yours, have a look online...
