Royal Holloway, University of London

Good morning all! We've been treated to beautiful weather each time we've arrived for our summer school, and this year was certainly no exception! It was a glorious day yesterday, meeting all the participants as they travelled in from all four corners of the world, to be part of this very special occasion. It's very humbling when you see all of these people giving up their precious time to come and be taught by you. The day went really well and they're making a beautiful, blended sound already so by the end of the week, the sky's the limit!Today we have the enormous pleasure of welcoming Christopher Robinson to our summer school. He will taking the participants through the repertoire that he will conduct at the service of Evensong which they'll sing at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on Wednesday. Christopher is a complete legend. He knows everything their is to know about choral music, and during his illustrious career he was Director of Music at this very Chapel for 17 years. It's a huge honour for us to have him with us and thank him wholeheartedly for taking the time to be part of our special week. Personally, it's going to be very memorable indeed going back to St. George's. I sang there for just over 2 years before I began my tenure with The KS, and I have such fond memories of it. It's a unique place and I'm looking forward to saying 'hi' to some of my old buddies there on Wednesday, if there's time that is!Toodle-oo for now....
