For The King’s Singers the music of the English Renaissance has always been at the heart of our repertoire. Many of the singers, past and present, grew up singing some of the sacred works featured in this collection, including William Byrd’s triumphant Haec Dies and Sing joyfully. Alongside these sacred gems are many of the group’s favourite secular madrigals, including John Bennett’s All Creatures Now are Merry Minded, Thomas Weelkes’s As Vesta was Descending, and Orlando Gibbons’s famed The Silver Swan.
