London, UK

Hi All! I'm writing this from a London Underground train, on my way up to north London to have an appointment with Declan Costello, my E.N.T. doctor. I've had a rather nasty cold the last few days (though thankfully it's avoided any concerts, and pretty much gone now!), so to be extra careful I'm going to give Declan the dubious honour of checking out my ears and throat, to make sure it's all back in good shape before we head off to Latvia tomorrow! It's never fun being ill, but in a job where your health affects your work so directly, it's even more troublesome. Everyone in the group has their routines for fighting off bugs, and doctors like Declan make it their business to help people who use their voice for a living. Anyway, it'll keep me busy for this afternoon even if it's just a case of saying 'all's well'!I'm excited about our trip to Riga; even with just one year in the group, it's relatively rare to visit countries (particularly in Europe) that one has not been to before, and for me Latvia is one of them. From there we'll fly directly down to Spain for a concert in Soria at the end of the week, but now I'm just spoiling the fun for my colleagues who have the next blogs to write! I'll leave it to them...
