Heathrow Airport, UK

You find us at our second home - Heathrow airport - as we wait for our flight to Lyon, France, for the penultimate (full) concert of term! We've just had a lovely meeting with Claire and Louisa, our manager and administrator, here at Heathrow, discussing upcoming concerts, diaries, travel, GOLD plans, and all sorts. Our face-to-face meeting time with them is so valuable, and it's possible to sort out so much so quickly compared to the miraculous, but comparatively slow, medium of emailing! We've just had a couple of days clear at home, catching up with loved ones. Ellie and I have been tending to our garden, which is now yielding a crazy mass of herbs, spinach a-plenty, and now cute little carrots. We also went over to our local climbing centre, and spent a couple of hours bouldering (indoor climbing with no ropes!), which was a lot of fun, although one feels it in one's wrists and shoulders the next day..!With just two full concerts to go (both in beautiful French towns), and our UK Summer School (about which we are very excited), the summer holidays are fast closing in, and thus we're getting closer to the anniversary GOLD season. Compiling a list of the concert dates, it's going to be a crazy year, but will see some unforgettable performances: Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, National Centre for Performing Arts, Beijing, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and any number of other exciting venues. I really hope that, during the course of the season, we'll get to meet some of you who read these blogs regularly but perhaps have never met us in person before. See if you can make it happen :)
