What a few days it has been! First, a short but sweet trip to St Malo in France for a concert in the Eglise Sainte-Croix de Saint Servan. The church had the most sublime acoustic which was a real treat. Pat, Jules and I enjoyed some scrumptious seafood on Friday night while watching a beautiful sunset over the beach.
Then we returned to our homes for a short 16 or so hours, before an early start yesterday in preparation for our lunchtime concert at The Wigmore Hall in London aired live on BBC Radio Three. The audience seemed very appreciative of our performance, and we hope those listening at home were equally so. You can listen to the concert on catch up here. After the concert our friends and family joined us for some food and drinks and there was a lovely jubilant atmosphere!
Then we returned home again for another 16 or so hours before making our way to Millfield school today for our concert in the Johnson Hall, another venue with a fantastic acoustic.
We are now en route to Exeter in readiness for tomorrow’s concert in Tavistock.
And to make these few days even better, I met four legendary former King’s Singer countertenors for the first time: David Hurley, Al Hume, Jeremy Jackman and Nigel Perrin. If our website allowed me to write emojis, I’d follow that sentence with the face with the starry eyes!
