For the very first time, Carols from King’s – the televised service on Christmas Eve from King’s College Chapel, Cambridge – will be made available for download immediately following transmission on BBC Two on 24 December, direct from kingscollegerecordings.com. This year’s broadcast will include traditional favourites Sussex Carol (arr. Ledger) and Away in a Manger (arr. Willcocks), as well as an arrangement of O Holy Night by John Rutter and O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen. Readings from the King’s James Bible and poems by Christina Rossetti and Christopher Pilling will intersperse the carols and hymns, sung by the The Choir of King’s College and congregation.
The programme is now available to pre-order direct from King’s College Recordings’ website and is available for download globally. It will sit alongside previous DVD releases of the programme, including the 60th Anniversary Edition.
