Music for a While by Henry Purcell is a single release on Warner Classics with countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński.
It has been a joy for us to collaborate with Jakub to create Music for a while. The period of lockdown made many things impossible for us, but it also made a few new things possible; one of these things was to reach out to other musicians and use technology to make music together. So that’s exactly what we did.
We knew that Jakub has listened to our group since he was very young; the six of us also have watched Jakub rise to great success as a countertenor soloist. So, a collaboration felt natural, and the beautiful work Music for a While by Henry Purcell was the perfect fit for Jakub, for us, and with words that made sense in these troubled times.
With some imagination, a few emails, some audio technology, and with the support of Warner Classics, we made this idea a reality and now we are proud to offer the world this little musical gift.
