23 / 03 / 2012 - Carnegie Hall Performance

On the evening of Thursday 22 March, we performed live at Carnegie Hall New York, sharing the stage with The New York Staff Band of the Salvation Army on the occasion of their 125th Anniversary. Given our long association with the Salvation Army, we were delighted to join them for this special event.

Two new pieces were arranged for us to perform with The New York Staff Band by composers Len Ballantine and Stephen Bulla. In addition to these we also performed one set of music from our Choral Essays recordings, including the title tracks from all three CDs: The Quiet Heart, In This Quiet Moment, and Reflections, as well as some of our close-harmony favourites.

The final concert of the current US Tour takes place on Saturday 24 March in Nashville, TN. Our performance of the programme "Pater Noster" is being recorded live for release on the Naxos label in Autumn 2012, we are delighted to be recording this beautiful music for them.

  • We were thrilled to perform our MacMillan premiere to an appreciative audience in Perth. It's a great piece, and we're looking forward to programming it more next season in order that more audiences are able to enjoy it. Today is an odd day in that we fly to Heathrow but don't go home! After a two hour layover, we head to Germany ahead of this term's final concert - in Heidelberg, tomorrow evening. The programme includes some old Strauss arrangements taken from the group's 1980s recording, "An der schoenen, blauen Donau." read
