18 / 05 / 2013 - BBC Radio 3: CD Review
Our most recent release Jean Richafort: Requiem - Tributes to Josquin DesPrez was reviewed on Saturday 18 May on BBC Radio 3. Described by Andrew McGregor as having "effortless blend and true intonation across the six vocal parts", the disc is particularly praised for the performance of Dum Vastos Adriae Fluctus by Jacquet of Mantua which has only been recorded once before. The programme is available online for seven days, to listen to the full programme, please click here. The review begins at around 1:20.
Four star reviews have also been received for the disc in both The Times and The Guardian, where the recording was described as a "Renaissance treasure trove" and "admirably manicured".
The centrepiece of the disc is the Missa Pro Defunctis by the Flemmish composer Jean Richafort, which was published eleven years after Josquin's death and is the most extensive memorial to the composer to survive.
